  15. On older IBM SCSI controllers, the physical drive IDs (what you set
  16. the switch or jumper to on the drive itself) are remapped to logical
  17. IDs. The controller scans from the highest priority physical ID (6) to
  18. the lowest priority physical ID (0) and assigns them in sequential
  19. order to logical IDs 0, 1, 2, and so forth.

  21. All software programs and operating systems see the logical IDs just
  22. as if they were physical IDs.
